Facebook to Pay Users who allow tracking their Phone Activity

Facebook, the social media giant is launching a new scheme under which it will pay its users if they allow access to their phones. The company will pay users who allow tracking their phone activity. The aim of this is to collect information and use it to create better products for the Facebook community.

The scheme is called ‘Study’ through which Facebook can legally access information from its users’ phones. Currently, this scheme will only be available to members living in India and the US.

People above the age of 18 will be offered this scheme and the participants will have the choice to leave the scheme anytime they wish to. But Facebook said that it will not try and access confidential information.

Facebook said, “We don’t sell data from this app to third parties or use it to target ads to you. We don’t collect user IDs, passwords or content people share, including messages.”

In order to become part of the program, users would have to registers. They will be asked to download the app that will be sent to them if they qualify.

Once the user signs up, instructions will be given on how the app will function. Users will be told about what information will be collected and how it will be used.
