Facebook Years-Old Messages Re-appear on Messenger to Haunt the Users

Facebook years-old messages are reappearing on the messenger. A new Facebook bug has surfaced causing the old conversations to reappear on Facebook Messenger and haunting the users. Facebook has confirmed that some Facebook users are facing this issue.

In a statement, the Facebook spokesperson said,  “Some people are seeing older messages on Facebook.com. We are aware of the issue and are actively working to resolve it in as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Facebook users are not pleased at all as they are concerned that things of the past, messages are reappearing to haunt them. It must be noted that messenger keeps the record of all your conversations unless you delete the history of messages between you and the receiver.

The old chats appear as unread messages on Messenger. People have complained on Twitter about this new issue. One Twitter user said that the old messages received due to this bug are from his partner who has passed away.

“Thank you @facebook for sending me notifications of messages sent over a year old. Many were from the day my partner, Dean, passed away & now I’ve spent my evening in fear of what else I’m going to see.”

It is important that Facebook immediately resolve this issue before more people start complaining and the social networking site is hit by yet another scandal.
