First laptops from Dell and HP with ARM processor coming soon

Nvidia wants to return to the PC processor market this year – as has been expected for a long time. Together with hardware partners such as Lenovo and Dell, the US graphics specialist wants to soon offer ARM-based processors for Windows laptops again.

Nvidia and MediaTek bring ARM CPUs for Windows PCs

As part of a cooperation with the Taiwanese chip manufacturer MediaTek, Nvidia reportedly wants to introduce a new platform for Windows PCs in the coming weeks, which uses a combination of an ARM CPU with a powerful Nvidia GPU in a common package. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal be to offer very powerful ARM chips with a powerful Nvidia graphics unit, which are to be installed in thin laptops with a long battery life. At the same time, the focus is also on using it as a kind of AI workstation, after all, Nvidia wants to push its current core topic of “artificial intelligence” at every turn.

The new product range will reportedly consist of two chips in the form of the Nvidia N1 and Nvidia N1X. Dell and Lenovo are said to be on board as the first partners. According to previous reports, at least the N1X will have 20 CPU cores, with the combined power loss with the integrated Nvidia graphics unit being a full 140 watts. Some time ago, various references to new hardware from HP, Dell and Lenovo with the new Nvidia/MediaTek processors were spotted on Geekbench and elsewhere.
