Pakistan’s First National Incubation Center in Islamabad Invites 40 Startups

Islamabad: On Tuesday 7^th Feb, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom launched Pakistan’s first national incubation center.

The initiative was taken by Ms. Anusha Rahman Ahmad Khan, the State’s Minister of Information technology & Telecom in collaboration with Pakistan’s largest telecom service provider – Jazz.

“The launch of the national incubation center is an important milestone in the digital agenda”, Ms. Anusha told while talking to the media at the inauguration ceremony.

“I wish all the startups joining the national incubation center the very best in achieving their dreams, they are our future and it is nothing but the very best for them.” she further said.

This national incubation center will provide state of the art facilities to the young startups. A co-working space, seed fundings, and mentoring the young entrepreneurs would be provided under the partnership of Jazz and MoITT.

Augie K Fabela II, while at the ceremony said, “This launch provides young Pakistani entrepreneurs an opportunity to further their business ambitions. Pakistanis are ready to make their mark on the world economy and Jazz will make it a reality.”

This national incubation center will help 40 startups to convert their dreams into reality.  Under one roof, these startups could work as a team or run their one-man show by using free internet, silent rooms, guidance from the best leaders and mentors, and the international level innovation lab.

Pakistan already has a number of incubation centers all around the country. Plan9, founded by Dr. Umar Saif, is one of the top most active centers located in the heart of Punjab.

With an initiative like this, Ms. Anusha has high hopes for the young startups and for a better Pakistan. She also shared news related to further plans of setting such incubation center in all the provinces of Pakistan. “We have already announced setting up of four more incubation centers in 4 provincial capitals together with Innovation Centers, one each for IoT, Robotics, and Fintech”.
