The tech giant Google is making all the efforts to introduce apps compatible with foldable phones and tablets. Previously, the company introduced the Android 12L. followed by this, the tech giant is constantly improving the app designs for the past two years. We have also witnessed the dual-pane design for big-screen gadgets. It is now even more improved.
Notably, the company has rolled out a fresh new look for the Gmail Android app for foldable smartphones. the source of this information is 9to5Google. As per the available information, the navigation rail is now shifted to the left side of the screen in the Gmail app. Previously, the navigation rail was presented on the bottom. With the relocation, it allows for better use since more emails and email content appear on the big screen.
The navigation rail hosts different buttons. You can find Compose, Chat, Email, and Meet buttons on the navigation rail thus making the switching between the options easier. Compose button was previously presented as a floating button. The new design was available t beta testers a few months ago. As of now, the company is rolling out the redesign for all users.
One thing to notice here is that the new Gmail app design is limited to foldable phones. Currently, it is not supported on tablets. It should be rolled out to tablets in the near future.
