For the Magic 6 Series Camera, Honor Picks 160MP Periscope Rather Than 200MP
According to a recent piece of information, in contrast to a 200MP unit, the upcoming HONOR Magic 6 series will feature a 160MP periscope camera. The information was shared by the tipster Digital Chat Station.
Initially, the company opted for a 200MP option but later on went for the 160MP one, according to the tipster. In addition to this, the tipster reiterated that the upcoming OmniVision OV50K main camera sensor will be a part of the Magic6 series. OV50K is a 1/1.3-inch camera sensor and not a 1-inch type sensor. That is approximately the same size as the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP camera sensor.
LOFIC technology, which stands for “lateral overflow integration capacitor-based CMOS,” will improve the OmniVision OV50K. That will basically be a layered sensor, which is to be expected given that Sony already made that move with its LYTIA sensors. The Pro model of the series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Similar to its predecessors, the smartphone will feature advanced specs, with a major emphasis on the camera specs.
The Magic6 series will arrive in global markets in Q1 2024
In 2023, the HONOR Magic5 series debuted at the end of February. If the company sticks with a similar strategy, then the new series will debut in the international market in Q1 next year. The HONOR Magic5 series comprises four members, including Honor Magic5, Magic5 Lite, Magic5 Pro, and Magic5 Ultimate. Not all the members of the series made their way to the international market.
