Fresh Video Allegedly Reveals iPhone 17 Pro Max Design Shift

A new video is to show a copy of the iPhone 17 Pro Max Frisch from production. The new comradeship is easy to see. Instead of the square module, the camera bar stretches horizontally over the entire back.

The supposed new Apple flagship shows itself

The new iPhone generation will be presented during the next Apple event on September 9, 2025. As always, the Pro-Max model, as the flagship of the series, has special attention in advance. There are rumors about faster charging thanks to steel housing battery, more memory and of course improved cameras by default, some of which should surpass everything so far.

But the external design also ensures tension. Because the new iPhones will probably differ significantly from their predecessors. A short video now allegedly shows a freshly produced iPhone 17 Pro Max. IPhone 17 Pro Max shows itself in Leak

The shown hands-on video comes from the well-known leaker Ice Universe Weibo. However, the recording quality is limited, so that fine details are difficult to recognize. It remains unclear whether the devices shown are really final production units or just Dummy models. In addition, protective stickers cover the view of large parts of the phone.

In the video you can see several devices with the revised camera island. Instead of the usual square hump, Apple introduces a rectangular element that extends horizontally over the entire back. The horizontal camera bar houses the three main cameras.

Reasons for new design

Rumors indicate that all three cameras in the iPhone could use 17 per larger 48 megapixel sensors. However, larger sensors need significantly more space in the housing. A stretched camera bar enables Apple to expand the base area for the camera modules without making the phone thicker in one corner. In addition, this is intended to improve the heat discharge.

All four iPhone 17 models are to receive an improved 24-megapixel front camera, while the iPhone 16 is still equipped with a 12-megapixel front camera. In addition, it is rumored by a significantly improved 48 megapixel telephoto camera for the Pro models of the iPhone 17.

Camera island is getting bigger and bigger

The square camera module has shaped the iPhone design since the iPhone 11 Pro from 2019. At that time, Apple introduced a three-camera system for the first time and had to fundamentally rethink the design. Previously, iPhones had a maximum of two cameras in a vertical arrangement.

The first time that the camera was out of Apple on a smartphone was on the iPhone 6 from 2014, when Apple made the housing thinner, but did not want to compromise the camera quality. Since then, the hump has grown steadily.
