Galaxy A35 with Exynos 1380 processor appears in benchmarks
The Galaxy A05, A05s, A15, and A25, which Samsung has introduced in many regions, aren’t necessarily the most anticipated A-series phones of the year, in my opinion. Usually, the Galaxy A3x and A5x, neither of which has been formally unveiled yet have that distinction. The Galaxy A35 did, however, show up in an online benchmark today.
The Exynos 1380 chip and 6GB of RAM power the Galaxy A35, model number SM-A356U, which is intended for the US market, according to a new entry on Geekbench. The phone has One UI 6 and runs Android 14, too. In any case, this is a Geekbench 5 entry instead of a Geekbench 6 entry. The Galaxy A35 received 2,332 points in multi-core tests and 697 points in single-core testing.
The Galaxy A35 might be designed like “Key Island”
The Galaxy A35’s status as a 5G phone is further confirmed by the SM-A356U, but the test didn’t reveal much else. The phone’s motherboard, marked “s5e8835,” indicates that the Exynos 1380 chip, which powers the unannounced Galaxy A55, is what powers the Galaxy A35 instead of the future Exynos 1480. It makes some sense that the next Galaxy A55 won’t share the Exynos 1480 SoC with the less expensive A35 because the Galaxy A34 and A54 didn’t use the same processor.
According to previously leaked renderings, the Galaxy A35 will have a “Key Island” design, as does the rest of the 2024 A-series. The frame is flat, except around the side buttons where it sticks out a bit, hence the Key Island moniker. Prices and availability specifics are unclear, but we’ll keep you updated as new information becomes available.
