Galaxy S25 FE Leak: LTPO Display and Bigger Battery Confirmed

According to a new leak, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE receives two important upgrades: an energy-saving LTPO display with a variable refresh rate and a larger battery with faster charging. The term of the smartphone could therefore be noticeably extended.

Galaxy S25 Fe in approach

While Samsung has just introduced his new foldables, more and more rumors are visiting the upcoming smartphones of the S26 series. In addition to rumors about the battery, camera and memory of the S26 Ultra, the code names have already appeared for all future models. But while the focus is already on the S26 series, there is still no S25 model: the Galaxy S25 FE. Specific information has now also appeared for the fan edition of the Samsung smartphone series. According to a current leak, the Koreans allegedly plan two significant improvements.

New LTPO display in view

The biggest innovation affects the screen. The Galaxy S25 FE is to be equipped with a 6.7-inch Dynamic Amoled 2x LTPO panel, which will offer a variable refresh rate of one to 120 Hz. The resolution remains with FHD+, and as with the predecessor, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The switch to LTPO technology is crucial. LTPO stands for “low-temperature polycrystalline oxide” and is a more advanced alternative to conventional LTPS technology (low-temperature polycrystalline silicone), which is used in amoled panels. This improvement is not immediately noticeable in a visibly better display quality, but provides efficiency increases that help improve the battery life.

Specifically, the main advantage of LTPO is to reduce electricity consumption by variation of the refresh rate frequency. With OLED, the LTPO technology enables a variable refresh rate of one to 120 Hz, but is quite expensive and is therefore only used in high-end flagships. LTPO OLED displays have the advantage of a lower leakage current compared to LTPS-OLED displays, which enables operation with low refresh rates with low power consumption. Therefore, smartphone manufacturers are increasingly relying on LTPO-OLED displays to reduce the energy consumption of their devices.

Larger battery for even more term

How Techmaniacs reports, the Galaxy S25 Fe will also receive a battery with 4,900 mAh-an increase compared to the 4,700 mAh battery of the S24 FE. In addition, there is an increase in the charging capacity to 45 watts, which is a significant improvement compared to the previous 25 watts.

In combination with the more economical LTPO panel, these two changes could ensure a noticeable extension of the battery life. And even if users have to charge their device, this does not take too long thanks to the 45-watt charging capacity.

Known processor and familiar camera

However, there are no big surprises in the processor. The Galaxy S25 FE will be equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor, according to current Geekbench entries. The chip will be paired with the Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU – the same combination, which was also used in the models of the regular Galaxy S24 series. Geekbench listing also shows the CPU configuration of the chip with a mix of seeds that clock up to 3.21 GHz. No significant changes are also expected from the cameras.

The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to be equipped with a 50-MP main camera, a 12-MP ultra-wake angle camera and an 8 MP telephoto lens with triple optical zoom. This largely corresponds to the configuration of the previous model. However, there could be an upgrade for the selfie camera. A 12-MP front camera with functions such as twice and triple zoom in portrait mode is expected.

Market launch at the end of 2025

The market launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is currently expected towards the end of the third quarter or early in the fourth quarter of 2025. That would correspond to the predecessor’s publication cycle, which came onto the market in October 2024. Overall, it is becoming apparent that Samsung with the Galaxy S25 FE will offer a balanced mid-range smartphone that could even offer some of the regular S25 models in terms of battery life and display technology. So far, the LTPO technology was reserved for the premium models of the Galaxy series and could give the FE a decisive advantage.
