Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ Users Report Charging Issues
One major complaint with Samsung’s flagship phones has always been their slow charging speeds, and unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ don’t offer much improvement. Both devices are capped at 45W charging—just like their predecessors. While this isn’t the fastest charging tech available, you’d expect Samsung to have refined its implementation by now. However, early Galaxy S25 owners are reporting various charging problems, adding to users’ frustration.
Users Share Complaints About Charging Problems
Many Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra users have taken to forums like the Samsung Community and Reddit to share their issues. Some report that chargers they relied on with previous Galaxy flagships no longer work effectively with the S25 series. Despite showing “Super Fast Charging 2.0” on the lock screen, their phones take hours to charge to a decent battery level.
Others are facing more severe problems, where the phone constantly disconnects and reconnects with the charging adapter, making it nearly impossible to charge. Even users with Samsung’s official 45W charger and bundled 5A USB-C cable are running into trouble.
Some users have found a temporary workaround: disabling the fast charging feature altogether. While this allows their Galaxy S25+ or Ultra to charge, it does so at a slower speed, defeating the purpose of having a high-wattage charger.
Samsung Acknowledges the Issue
Samsung Italia publicly addressed the issue in early February, stating that the problem would be resolved through a future software update. Their post also advised users to switch to a 3A USB-C cable instead of using the 5A cable bundled with the phone.
It’s important to note that this issue only affects wired fast charging on the S25+ and S25 Ultra models—wireless charging remains unaffected. The standard Galaxy S25, which supports just 25W fast charging, doesn’t seem to have these problems.
What Should Galaxy S25 Users Do Now?
Samsung has already rolled out the first software update for the Galaxy S25 series, which mentions “charging improvements” in the release notes. However, it’s unclear if this update fully resolves the problem. Until Samsung confirms a fix, here are some steps you can take:
- Use a 3A USB-C cable instead of the bundled 5A cable.
- Switch to a 25-35W power adapter for more stable charging.
- Turn off the “Super Fast Charging” feature temporarily to avoid interruptions.
