Gigabyte promises a 35% increase in performance for AMD CPUs

As the motherboard and graphics card manufacturer announces, a new function will soon get up to a third more performance from AMD’s Ryzen 9000 processors. However, many questions remain unanswered about the “cutting edge” feature.

Ryzen 9000 receives another boost

At the start, the performance of the new Ryzen 9000 CPUs caused disappointment. Only after a number of improvements, such as a TDP patch and a Windows update, did the chips reach a satisfactory level in the eyes of many customers. Now a new performance mode is intended to ensure a real explosion in performance.

Enormous leaps in performance in prospect

Like gigabytes in one Press release announced that the new “X3D Turbo Mode” is intended to push the “boundaries in performance in games”. The innovative BIOS function would even ensure a performance increase of up to 35 percent in games in the upcoming Ryzen 9000 X3D models, according to the company. This is what “empirical tests” have shown.

Surprisingly, the function, which will be available to owners of the new X870 / increase.

Delivery and availability

X3D Turbo Mode will be integrated into the latest BETA BIOS version with AMD AGESA 1.2.0.2a and will be synced to AORUS AI SNATCH in the near future. As a result, it could be a function that will not only be available to owners of Gigabyte motherboards. So it could be a general feature that is being introduced to optimize the Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs.

Lots of question marks

With this scenario and such high numbers, the question of ‘how’ naturally arises. How does the function manage to extract over a third of additional performance from the processors? Unfortunately, Gigabyte does not provide any information about this. Not even a hint is made in the press release. After all, it should be noted that the results always depend on the exact configuration. However, which CPU in which variant is possible with 35 percent also remains a secret. So all that remains is to wait and see.
