It has been reported on many news websites that a global internet shutdown is expected for two days. Globally internet users are expected to encounter internet issues, failures as the main domain servers will go through routine maintenance.
The maintenance work will be carried out by the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). They will the alter the cryptographic key that protests the Domain Name System (DNS) or the address book of the internet. The aim is to control the ever-growing cyber attacks and hacks.
Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) said that global internet shutdown is important to make sure a safe, secure and strong DNS.
It said, “To further clarify, some internet users might be affected if their network operators or Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have not prepared for this change. However, this impact can be avoided by enabling the appropriate system security extensions.”
So internet users will face issues in loading pages for the next 48 hours.
