Google announces 5Gig and 8Gig Internet plans for 2023

Although Google Fiber has been known for over a decade. Google fiber services were confined to only a few regions. A few months back, the company expanded its reach to new states. Now it is planning to launch its services with faster internet speeds. Google Fiber announced a big project of providing 5 Gig and 8Gig data plans.

When it comes to internet speed, Google Fiber is the first one that offered an internet speed of about 1 Gig almost a decade ago. The service received an upgradation of up to 2 Gig in 2020. Now it is quite a jump that it is going to offer data plans of 5 Gig and 8 Gig. Though this a big news, of course, the service won’t be available from today. You have to wait until 2023 when you can finally enjoy such great internet speed. The new service is quite appealing when it comes to pricing. The 5 Gig plan will be available at $125 per month whereas the 8 Gig plan can be accessed at the rate of $150 per month. Isn’t that great?

Furthermore, symmetrical upload and download speeds will be offered as part of the service.to enjoy this service, the users need to have a Wi-Fi 6 router and a supported modem. Customers of Kansas City, West Des Moines, and Utah can become ‘trusted testers’ and use the service by November. If a consumer is eligible, he will be asked how he wants to utilize the additional bandwidth.

If you are a gamer or you rely on cloud computing, then this service could be great for you. For instance, a file of 150 GB takes around eleven minutes with an internet speed of 2Gbps. But an internet speed of 8Gbps will lessen that time to only three minutes provided the conditions are ideal.
