Google Hangouts to Shut Down in 2020

As per some latest reports, Google Hangouts would be shutting down in 2020. The consumers would not be able to access and use the Google Hangouts from 2020. But the app would be working as business-only. Additionally, Hangouts Chat and Hangouts Meet would still be a part of the Google’s G Suite.

Google launched Hangouts in 2013 as a replacement of Google Talk. The application was used as a default Android application. The app was used as a default Android app for doing instant messaging and group conversations.

Furthermore, the app was also integrated within the Gmail desktop version while making communications with others.

Previously, Google added support for SMS messaging just for making the application much easier while using. But unluckily the Google Hangouts did not receive as much fame as was the expectation. Some years later, Google also introduced Allow and Duo as an easy to use for instant messaging application as well.

Google is taking this initiative as the firm is working on as RCS (Rich Communication Service). The firm would be introducing this feature in the Android messaging application.

But, if one is using Hangouts, then they still have some time to switch to some other application before Google finally puts an end to the app.
