Google is organizing a live event on February 8 on YouTube. As per the information sources, the company will discuss how it will utilize AI to redesign search and the way users interact with information. The event will be 45 minutes long and is named “Live from Paris.”
In the description of the YouTube channel, the company has specified that the event will be related to “Search, Maps, and beyond.” It suggests that interaction with information will become more of a natural thing. The timing of the event is intriguing. Since Google I/O is three months away. It is expected to take place in the same time slot as it usually happens i.e., at the beginning, or middle of May. On the other hand, it is rumored that the Developer conference might include new AI features.
It is likely that the tech company Google wants to acquire AI advancements at a rapid rate in contrast to other companies. Since ChatGPT has become quite popular and Microsoft has even declared that it will introduce the tech across its products. In addition to this, some sources suggest that the introduction of ChatGPT has caused an internal code red alert at Google. The founders and teams are busy working out how to pace up the AI projects of Google.
In the past few years, the company has clarified that it is interested in investing in natural language AI. It will do so with its own general-purpose chatbot LaMDA. It was in news last year. But the company denied the claims made by an ex-employee. Well, we will see with time what Google has to offer in order to compete with ChatGPT and other AI tools.
