Google launches first beta for Android games for Windows

Google is now trying to control and starting immediately with a first beta phase of its Play Store for Android games on systems with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft, on the other hand, continues to stall with the integration of the Amazon App Store.

While Microsoft has been offering its test balloon of the Windows subsystem for Android exclusively to U.S. Windows 11 insiders for about three months, Google announced its own implementation in December, which will not only be available for the Redmond company’s latest operating system, but also for Windows 10. The catch: The company behind the well-known search engine is only focusing on Android games with Google Play Games for now.

On a new Google website interested parties can now register for the beta of the service, even though it is limited to the regions Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan so far. However, it is promised that more users from other regions will be invited in the course of this year. European gamers can be notified accordingly as soon as the beta version is available in this country.
Google promises improved mouse and keyboard control, seamless cross-device synchronization of game saves and the collection of Google Play Points for future in-app purchases on the PC with the launch of Android games for Windows. At the same time, they announce the official minimum requirements for the Google Play Games beta, which are as follows.
