Exciting news for Google fans; Google Meet calls for up to 24 hours are now free, yay! The company will let it stay free till June 2021, two whole months.
Previously, Google extended this limit till March 31st. But as users were not done utilizing their free minutes, the company planned to give an extra mile by extending the offer till June.
In a tweet, the company shared the exciting news:
To recall, Google re-branded Google Hangout and brought the new Google Meet. Back in 2020, the company said the former video calling app would be free for all Gmail users. Then the company announced Google Meet would remain free for all Google account users till September 30, 2020. Then the company extended the feature till March 31, 2021. And now, the company has extended even further.
The company also updated its view where users on Google Meet can view each other in a tile view on their smartphones. The feature first started for iOS users, followed by Android soon.
For the web, Google Meet allows 49 tiles on the screen. However, Google Meet still lacks the recording feature for free users, unlike Zoom.
