Google Nest Aware Price Increase Is Here

Google is now surprising its smart home customers with a hefty price increase. Google Nest Aware subscriptions increase in price by around 33 percent on average. The first customers in the USA have already received the announcement.

Google Nest Aware subscriptions are getting more expensive

This is reported by the magazine 9to5google and refers to the emails that Google sends to its subscribers.

The new prices have also already been adjusted on the Google homepage in the USA. The starting price remains at 5 euros per month in Europe. However, that doesn’t mean that the prices will remain the same. If there are similar increases in prices, the new prices will also start very promptly outside the USA. So it remains to be seen.

Google recently began informing customers in the USA about the price increase. The Nest Aware monthly or annual subscription expands Nest cameras and doorbells.

Nest Aware’s basic subscription now costs $8 per month or $80 annually. Previously it cost 6 dollars a month or 60 euros a year. For Nest Aware Plus, prices will increase from $12 to $15 per month or from $120 to $150 per year.

Extras only by subscription

The subscriptions offer intelligent alarms for familiar faces, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and much more, as well as various long retention times for the recordings depending on the subscription.

The transition period for existing customers

Google explains Nest Aware’s price increase as follows: “Subscription prices may change to keep pace with market changes, which may include inflation and local tax updates.” The increased prices apply immediately to new subscribers. For existing customers, the increase will apply from November:

“The new price will take effect on your next invoice issued on or after November 6, 2023. For other countries or territories: We will email you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase -Notify by email.”
