Google Pixel 6a, 7, and 7 Pro receive the ARCore support

Pixel 6a, 7, and 7 Pro have been available in the market for over a year now. However, these devices were not presented with ARCore support. But recently, the company has shared the information on the ARCore official website that the devices have passed the certification process. Besides these devices, some other devices from Google have received ARCore support.

It indicates that the devices will now be presented with a better user experience while using AR-based apps or features. To name some of the AP apps are IKEA Place, Pokémon GO, Google Lens, and so many others. These apps use the device’s camera and motion sensor to incorporate the features of apps with the real world.

Since the growth of AR, users are interested in testing and experiencing AR apps. For this reason, it was significant to have the certification. In order to grant ARCore support, several factors were considered. The factors that were evaluated included the device’s camera, motion sensors, design, and all-around performance. Furthermore, the CPU of the device was also evaluated to ensure that it meets the requirements.

It has been mentioned by ARcore that they are working in close association with different brands to ensure that the devices meet the eligibility criteria for augmented reality. They are considering the devices in several price segments i.e., flagship to budget options. Besides Google devices, companies like Infinix, Lenovo, Motorola, OPPO, Sharp, Sony, Xiaomi, and ZTE have also received certification for their devices.

Furthermore, a few Chinese manufacturers like Fujitsu, FCNT, and Zebra are also part of the latest ARC ore support certification. All such advancements indicate that every user will have the access to AR features irrespective of their budget. We can expect that things will modify in the coming months. Where AR will be accessible across a range of devices.
