Google Pixel Fold 2 might feature larger display sizes

Different smartphone manufacturers have debuted their foldable smartphones with unique features. One of them is the Google Pixel Fold that features a compact design. It is basically its compactness that separates it from its competitors. According to some fresh leaks, the Pixel Fold 2 will feature significantly larger displays. It is a deviation from the form factor of its predecessor.

Although the initial Pixel Fold’s compact design proved appealing, a recent leak indicates that Google may be rethinking its form factor strategy for the Pixel Fold 2. Early leaks suggested that the Pixel Fold 2 will arrive with a 6.4 inches external display. However, Ross Young claims that it will be a smaller device with a size of 6.29 inches. Despite this, it will be a significant update as compared to the 5.8-inch screen of the Pixel Fold.

It appears like that the internal display will showcase the real upgrade in size. According to Ross Young, as compared to the 7.6-inches display of the Pixel Fold, the Pixel Fold 2 will feature an 8.02-inch foldable screen. The Pixel Fold 2 will face competition from gadgets like the OnePlus Open, which has an inner display of 7.82 inches and an outer display measuring 6.31 inches, thanks to its large screen real estate.

The tech giant Google might be considering a size increase for the Pixel Fold 2 because of several reasons. First off, a larger foldable screen will greatly enhance media consumption and multitasking, transforming the Pixel Fold 2 into a true entertainment and productive machine. Additionally, size change can address the cramped feeling issue of the Pixel Fold that happens when the device is unfolded.

The size change is a significant upgrade for the upcoming Pixel Fold 2. Besides this, there are several details that are under wraps. According to rumors, the smartphone will use the Google’s Tensor G4 processor. According to Ross Young, the production of displays is expected to begin next month. Given this, we can expect the device to arrive at some point in fall this year.
