Google Play Pass launches with Game Subscription Service

Google has officially introduced subscription-based access for its users to premium mobile games. Google Play Pass has launched with a game subscription service. This service will offer Google users access to 350 apps and games. These games will be completely unlocked. Users will not have to pay any upfront fees and it will be without in-app purchases or advertisements. The first price will be just $1.99/month for the first year.

After one year, the price will increase to $4.99/month. However, the launch promotion is just available till 10th October 2019.

Google Pay Pass is similar to Apple Arcade in concept. They both offer large library of premium content for a monthly subscription.

Google Play Pass is not just offering games. Popular mobile apps including AccuWeather, Facetune and Pic Stitch are also offered by Google Play Pass.

Popular games include Stardew Valley, Risk, Terraria, Monument Valley, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Reigns: Game of Thrones, Titan Quest and Wayward Souls.

Furthermore, the Play Pass subscription will allow sharing of games with the whole family. The Play Pass subscription can be shared by the family manager with up to 5 other family members. All of them can access the titles independently.
