Google rolls out beta 4.1 to fix final bugs before final release

Google just rolled out a new beta version of its Android 13 operating system on its Pixel smartphones. Beta 4.1 brings several fixes, but no new features.

About two weeks after the launch of the latest beta 4, Google has finally launched a new intermediate version 4.1 that aims to fix certain bugs on pixel smartphones. No new features are planned, as the software achieved platform stability with the third beta rollout in June, meaning Google is currently only focusing on bug fixes.

What will change in Android 13 beta 4.1?

In the patch notes, we discover that the previous betas of Android 13 still housed connectivity errors with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, but also in the Meet video application and with GPS. Here is the detail of all the fixes brought by the update:

• Fixed an issue where an app would not enable or disable Bluetooth if it did not have the BLUETOOTH_CONNECT permission, even if the app targeted an API level where this permission is not required.
• Fixed issues that sometimes caused a device to crash and reboot when connecting to certain Wi-Fi networks.
• Fixed an issue where the connection to an encounter could be interrupted while driving.
• Fixed an issue where the system could misinterpret GPS data.

The build is currently in use as TPB4.220624.08, and the new OTA files are already available for the Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, and Pixel 6 series.
