Google Struggles to Address Android Auto Stuttering Issues

Google has been facing ongoing challenges with Android Auto, as its attempts to resolve persistent stuttering and connectivity problems have fallen short. The trouble started several months ago when users reported issues after updating to a new version of the app. Devices connected wirelessly to car infotainment systems began experiencing disrupted music playback and poor call quality, with callers unable to hear users clearly.

To address the problem, Google rolled out Android Auto 13.2 in November 2024, announcing that it would fix these performance and connection issues. However, users quickly noted that the update did little to resolve the glitches. Wired connections, on the other hand, continue to work without these problems, adding frustration for those preferring wireless use.

Further attempts have also failed to resolve the issue. Android Auto 13.3, which followed shortly after, also did not bring the desired improvements. Most recently, Android Auto 13.4 was released, but it has only been made available to a limited number of users so far. Whether it fully resolves the stuttering issues remains uncertain, leaving Android Auto’s wireless functionality in limbo.

For now, users heavily reliant on Android Auto for seamless navigation, music, and hands-free functionality are advised to stick with a wired connection until Google can effectively patch the problem. With Android Auto being a vital tool for many drivers, hopes remain high that a permanent fix is on the way.
