Google tends to make the switch to its password manager effortless

Google Password Manager might not have many features as compared to other password managers, but it does provide the safest way to store all your login credentials in one place. With that feature, it’s hard to get this convenience under any other password manager, mostly with the condition of using these credentials across multiple platforms and devices. With the latest update, Google is working to improve its password management on the desktop, which will make it more convenient to save and access your login details in secure ways.

Google is working on adding a separate dedicated bar to the platform that’ll be specified for password management settings. This separated menu will appear while using these automated passwords and will allow users to take a convenient look over all their saved credentials. Other than that, users will be able to create a shortcut for Google password managers over their screens that’ll lead to direct access to these credentials.

You can now turn on biometric authentication for Google’s password manager on your desktop or laptop for an additional degree of security. Currently, without requiring any further verification, it is easy to retrieve your saved passwords in Chrome or have your login information automatically filled in, posing a serious security concern. You can use fingerprint or facial recognition on your computer or laptop to verify the password before Chrome fills it in for you.

Furthermore, Google Password Manager now allows you to save a note with your login information. If you need to input a PIN or have numerous logins for the same website, this is useful. The capability to import your login information from other password managers is another useful addition. You must export your passwords in a.csv file that is importable through Google Chrome.

Although if you are using these credentials over your phone, it’ll display autofill suggestion boxes that will make it convenient to the top. Other than that, this tool will highlight your weak passwords along with your compromised passwords. This feature update is expected to be rolled out widely in the coming months.
