Google TV Revamps With New Features

Google plans a comprehensive revision of its Google TV app. An APK-Teartown of a beta version not only reveals a new blue coloring-also practical functions such as a search history and a “hot and new” area are under development.
Fresh look for Google TV in sight
The Google TV app is facing an optical overhaul. Instead of the previous, rather subtle gray design, the user interface should appear in different shades of blue in the future. The change affects central elements such as the menu bar, buttons and the floating remote control button. In addition to the optical refresh, Google also plans functional improvements.
One of the most important innovations:
The search function should save the last search queries in the future and display them directly when the search bar is opened. This saves users the repeated typing of search terms – a sensible addition in view of the more than 700,000 films and series available on the platform. An APK-Teartown of an internal beta version Android Authority Also shows a new “hot and new” tab. This is intended to present current trends and new releases in a bundling. The corresponding function is managed in the code as “Hotandnewfeature__enable_hot_and_new_tab”, but has not yet been activated.
The new coloring is based on the recently revised design of the Google Play Store. The blue accents should stand out from the dark background and give the app a contemporary look. The current interface dominated by gray tones still dates from 2022 and appears less modern compared to competitive offers such as Apple TV.
Time of the rollout still open
It is currently not known when the innovations will be available to all users. Since the functions have so far only been discovered in an internal beta version, the development could take some time. The following also applies to APK-Teartowns: Not all the features discovered inevitably make it into the final version.
