Gurman: iOS 18 might be the biggest iPhone update ever

Mark Gurman claims that the next operating system for Apple will be a major upgrade. According to him, in the iPhone’s history, it could be the biggest software update. Gurman announced this information in his Power On newsletter’s subscriber-only Q&A section. He mentioned that it would be one of the biggest iOS updates in the company’s history.

At the moment, Mark Gurman shared only a few details about the new iOS 18 update. He mentioned that he would share more details in the future. However, we already anticipate a few adjustments to iOS. Support for Rich Communication Services (RCS), a messaging standard that would enable improved communication between iPhones and Android smartphones, is one of the improvements that is anticipated.

Last year, in November, the company announced that later in 2024, the iPhone will feature support for RCS in the Messages app. Perhaps it will be aligned with the arrival of iOS 18.
