With the series adaptation of the PlayStation title The Last of Us due to be released in January, HBO has shown another trailer for Joel and Ellie’s adventure. The video, which is two and a half minutes long, gives many new impressions and shows numerous characters in action. The series will consist of nine weekly episodes.
Like the video game of the same name from the developer studio Naughty Dog, The Last of Us series is set in post-apocalyptic North America after a large part of humanity has been infected by a fungus and turned into zombies. The series also features Joel and Ellie’s original actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson. However, they do not take on their previous roles, but Ellie’s mother Anna, and a cannibal.
The series will consist of nine episodes in total. While the first episode will air on the night of January 16, 2023, all subsequent episodes are scheduled to be released gradually. A rhythm of one week is planned for this. Each episode, with the exception of the first episode, is said to last around 60 minutes. The first episode is said to be a little longer at just under 83 minutes.
