HBO reveals the main actors for the new Harry Potter series

HBO has found the three leading actors for the highly expected Harry Potter series: Three newcomers will take over the magical roles of Harry, Hermione and Ron. The filming is scheduled to begin this summer.
Found a new trio for magical adventures
After an extensive search, HBO has announced the three leading actors for the new Harry Potter series: Dominic McLaughlin will embody Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton takes on the role of Hermine Granger and Alastair Stout will be seen as Ron Weasley. If these names do not say anything, you shouldn’t be surprised: for all three young actors, the series marks their first big appearances in front of the camera. McLaughlin will soon be seen in the British comedy “Grow” alongside Nick Frost.
Stanton brings stage experience, she already played the leading role in “Matilda the Musical” in the West End in London. So far, Stout has only worked in a commercial. How Variety reports, the series is to become a “faithful adaptation” by JK Rowling’s popular fantasy series. The decision for relatively unknown actors follows the pattern of the original film series, which with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint also relied on young talents who had previously had hardly any camera experience – and then became stars.
The filming should begin in mid -2025. One season is planned for the early books. HBO wants and has to hurry up, a new season is expected to be produced every year so that the young actors do not grow out of their youthful roles.
Closely on the template
Show runner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod attach particular importance to designing the series in the best interest of the literary templates. This also means that the figure of the Severus Snape is shown as a 31-year-old and that even the Dursleys, Harry’s unfriendly, will be younger than in the films. The accuracy of age is a special aspect of the new adaptation.
In the books, Harry’s parents Lily and James Potter were only in early 20, while Snape, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin should be about 31 years old at the beginning of history. In the films, these characters were portrayed much older, which always caused discussions with fans.
