Huawei Begins Research on 6G Internet

Huawei, despite being one of the leading mobile companies in the world, has been facing unrest and ban by the US government. The US government felt that Huawei can develop security flaw “backdoors” into 5G and other communication infrastructure, forcing governments to ban the company.

But Huawei has stood steadfast as it is now looking to begin its research on 6G mobile internet. As per the reports, Huawei is researching 6G at its R&D center in Ottawa, Canada. Even though it will take almost a decade for 6G mobile internet to practically develop and spread globally, Huawei has initiated the process already.

The company was blacklisted in America back in May as the US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to ban the company due to national security concerns that Huawei was closely linked with the Chinese government.

The US government feared that the Chinese government can use infrastructure Huawei builds in the US and other countries to spy. However, Huawei has repeatedly denied this.

As Trump blacklisted Huawei, it was blocked from using American made products including Google’s Android system. Thus, Huawei revealed its own operating system called HarmonyOS.
