On July 6th (yesterday), Huawei released a new smartphone to the Nova 8 series to Malaysia – the Nova 8i. The series already has the nova 8 SE, nova 8 Pro 5G, nova 8 Pro 4G, and the nova 8 5G.
This new Nova 8i comes with a 6.67-inch Edgeless LCD display, a punch-hole screen, and offers an impressive FHD+ resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels. The device comes with a unique design – edgeless design – featuring super-thin bezels.
This nova 8i also offers a touch sampling rate of 180Hz, ensuring a smoother touch response while playing mobile games.
Talking of its camera, we have a quad-camera setup on the back. The phone has a 64MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. On the front, we get a 16MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.
In addition to this, we also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor clubbed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The whole unit is powered by a 4,300mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. This Nova 8i runs Android 11 OS with EMUI 11 out of the box.
Connectivity-wise, this Nova smartphone supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz/ 5GHZ, and Bluetooth v5.0. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and Type-C port for charging.
The 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM model comes for RM1299 (around $312) in Malaysia. You can choose the device in different colorways – Starry Black, Moonlight Silver, and Interstellar Blue.
