Huawei Mate 60 Pro availability information got confirmed

Huawei Mate 60 Pro’s information was shared with Android Authority directly from the company. This device won’t be available outside of its homeland.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro’s availability got confirmed from official resources

This might be disappointing for those who hoped for the Huawei Mate 60 Pro to launch beyond European markets. Huawei’s perspective in reference to this is narrowed as it aims to launch the product in a few more markets.

What might be the reason for this?

Well, that might be due to the Huawei SoC that was used. Huawei’s very own Kirin 9000s CPU, which is in the Mate 60 Pro, does support 5G connectivity.

This SoC was created by Huawei and SMIC. Although it isn’t quite as potent as the most recent Qualcomm offerings, it does restore interest in Kirin CPUs. In terms of raw power, it is comparable to the Snapdragon 888, a 3-year-old chip.

Back in the day, Kirin CPUs were absolute powerhouses

Kirin processors were a formidable force before US sanctions. In many ways, Huawei was on the right track, and CPUs were one of them. All of that changed when the sanctions were implemented.

There are few data points available about the Kirin 9000s, but because they are entirely indigenous, they are purportedly immune to US sanctions. Huawei should be able to introduce it in more markets if that is the case. However, there may be a barrier that we are unaware of, or Huawei may have opted against doing it for another reason. We can only speculate.

The triple-display camera hole design on the Huawei Mate 60 Pro is certainly intriguing. Also featured is a powerful camera setup with a 10-step variable aperture. This phone is a camera whiz, if the Mate 50 Pro and P50 Pro are any clues.
