Huawei P60 Pro debuts in the international market

Back in March, the Chinese company Huawei introduced the Huawei P60 series. Reportedly the series consists of three members namely the Huawei P60, P60 Pro, and P60 Art. All three devices have been introduced in the Chinese market. However, the company has only introduced one member of the flagship P60 series in the international market i.e., the Huawei P60 Pro.

The smartphone comes with a Quad-Curve display indicating that the smartphone is curved on all sides. The display panel is protected by Huawei’s Kunlun Glass panel. It is the same panel that has been used with the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.  

Huawei P60 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch 2700 x 1220 LTPO AMOLED display. The display is curved. It is provided with a central display camera hole. It has a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device is powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. However, the chip variant support 4G instead of 5G due to the US ban. The device comes in two different variants i.e., 8GB and 12GB RAM variants, with 256GB and 512GB of storage, respectively.

Huawei P60 Pro has powerful camera hardware

The camera island has been termed ‘The Eye of Light’ by the company. The camera island consists of a 48MP primary camera. the company calls it ‘Ultra Lighting Main Camera’. The main attributes of this camera are as follows:

  • an auto-adjustable physical aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0)
  • a high transmittance lens group
  • an RYYB SuperSensing sensor
  • OIS and PDAF support

Alongside the primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera can also be found. It is accompanied by a 48MP telephoto camera. The telephoto camera supports 3.5x optical zoom.  It acts as a macro camera. Moreover, it has support for OIS as well as for PDAF.  A 13MP camera is provided on the front.  

Battery and Charging capacity

The smartphone packs a 4,815mAh battery on the inside. It has support for the 88W wired Huawei SuperCharge charging as well as 50W wireless charging too. Moreover, the device even offers 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

Huawei P60 Pro includes an in-display fingerprint scanner. Other features include the support for Bluetooth 5.2 and stereo speakers. The device comes with EMUI 13.1 and Huawei’s mobile services. You won’t find Google services on this smartphone.

Pricing and availability

The device will be available in Europe via different routes. Users can purchase it from May 9 onwards from Huawei e-commerce. Whereas it will be found in retail stores from May 22. The pricing of the 8GB RAM model is €1,199, while the price of the 12GB RAM model is €1,399. Black and Rococo Pearl will be the two colors offered for each model. Except for the UK, where the 8GB RAM variant will only be offered in black and the 12GB RAM model will only be offered in “Rococo Pearl” color.
