Huawei Releases Atlas 900: The World’s Fastest AI Training Cluster
During the Huawei Connect 2019 conference in Shanghai which is an annual ICT/AI developer and ecological conference organized by Huawei, the Vice-Chairman Huawei, Hu Houkun said in a keynote speech that Huawei is creating new heights of Intelligence.”
The Vice-Chairman has announced new Huawei Atlas 900 during the speech, Hu has mentioned Huawei’s full-stack AI strategy is now implemented. According to the company, Huawei Atlas 900 is the world’s fastest AI training cluster. It will also make AI available for various purposes.
Huawei has tested the AI training performance and said, Huawei Atlas 900 has completed the entire test in 59.8s. This is the new world record AI training performance. Huawei has further presented the components of Atlas 900 including Ascend 910 AI chips.
The cloud infrastructure integrates three high-speed interfaces including PCIe 4.0, with a total power of 256-1024 Petaflops per second, and the overall computing power is one petaflop. Huawei Connect is Huawei’s annual and the largest global conference for the ICT industry, the basic aim of the conference is Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the theme of the conference is “The meaning of Advance Intelligence”.
However, the conference also focuses on space exploration, the fields of oil and gas apart from the major focus including AI, Cloud Computing, and Operating Systems, etc.
