Huawei sets a new record of 200 million shipments in 2018

Huawei has surpassed 200 million shipments of its smartphones during 2018 the company has announced in a statement.

The Chinese manufacturer sets the new company record of shipping more than 200 million smartphones in one year, the Chinese manufacturer also said that the sales were mostly driven by the success of Mate 20, P20 and Honor 10 series, and there is no doubt these handsets are remarkably very attractive, user friendly and of better quality.

The company has witnessed burgeoning growth in just five years, from the tiny number of 3 million units in 2010 to 153 million units in 2017 and now the company has declared it crossed 200 million units in 2018, thanks to Huawei new product lines including P20, Mate 10 and Mate 20.

According to a research report by Canalys, Huawei now overtakes Apple to become the world’s second largest smartphone company after Samsung. Huawei was ranked at number 3 in top 10 largest mobile companies of 2018, but in 2019 Huawei will be the second largest company if it keeps going like this, despite the Huawei ban propaganda by the US government and some parts of Europe, however, UK had security concerns over Huawei devices and they had talks with UK regulators about the issues, most recently in this month Huawei announced that it will meet the UK 5G security demands according to the regulator’s guidelines in order to stay in the market.

According to CNBC the US government officials advised citizens not to purchase Huawei products because of the concerns over Chinese government espionage. AT&T and Verizon reportedly pulled out of the deals to sell Huawei phones in January 2018.

Despite strangling tactics by the US government and some parts of Europe the Chinese manufacturer managed to breathe in other parts of the world which proved to be enough oxygen to build its muscles. China on the other hand is mulling to put a ban on iPhone sales in China which could cost Apple roughly $11.5 billion in revenue loss according to Forbes.
