During the opening ceremony of China Go League which Huawei is the sponsor for the last two years, Huawei’s Vice President Zhu Ping unveiled the plans about the future. Zhu said Huawei looks forward to exceeding 250 million units this year.
The Chinese manufacturer has crossed the benchmark of selling more than 200 million units during the last year and stood among the top three mobile phone sellers in the world.
Huawei’s Vice President Zhu Ping said we are committed to going further than this, and eye on selling more than 250 million units this year.
Last year, Samsung topped the mobile phone shipments by touching 293.7 million units followed by Apple with 212.1 million units, Huawei was able to ship as many as 206.0 million units and secured the third place in mobile phone shipments, according to Canalys report.

If Huawei exceeds the 250 million units threshold the company would become the second largest smartphone brand in the world, it is also possible that Samsung might see low growth in this year but that is not going to happen any time soon as Samsung has already worked on 5G and foldable smartphones along with budget entry-level devices to keep their market share positive. Huawei consumer business CEO Yu Chengdong was also present at the occasion, “Now every time three smartphones are sold in China, one is a Huawei phone. This year our goal is to have one for every two sold, which means that our Chinese market share would be over 50%.” said Chengdong.
