Huawei Wins 5G Global Summit Award With Its 5G Smart Core Network

In the 5G Global Summit 2019 held in London Huawei wins the “Best 5G Core Network Technology Award”. Huawei’s 5G smart core network is based on native cloud, connection + edge computing technologies. The network supports software-based 3-layer decoupling, cross-DC deployment, stateless design, grayscale upgrade, micro-service, and some other key technologies.

According to the reports, Huawei has developed the world’s first true core network which supports 2G/3G/4G/5G NSA/5G SA deep integration. The network is based on a distributed architecture with transfer separation. It also supports one-stop user side plug and plays along with scheduling heterogeneous on demand. Additionally, the network supports edge computing for fast integration with third-party applications.

The Chinese manufacturer officially announced that it has won 46 5G commercial contracts across the world as in June 2019, it has also conducted a series of cross-industry cooperation in the areas of smart grid, AR/VR, telemedicine, car networking, and intelligent manufacturing.

Moreover, Huawei also leads the patents department, according to a patent analysis firm, IPLytics, Chinese manufacturers patent application for “standard essential patent (SEP)” in the 5G field accounts for 34% worldwide. Among them, Huawei ranked first in the world with 1554 “standard essential patents”.

Huawei can also become the world’s largest 5G network provider company if the U.S. and its allies make a deal with Huawei, currently, Huawei is facing so many difficulties in promoting its 5G core networks around the world and especially in Europe and America due to a tussle between the U.S. and China. However, the company has other options like Russia, Huawei has recently signed a 5G deal with Russia, the company also gets positive signals from the UK.
