Huawei’s new Galaxy Z Flip 5 challenger is all set for the launch for this week

For a few years now, Huawei has been producing foldable smartphones. It has produced smartphones that mimic Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lineups, with both book-style and clamshell form factors.

Over the past several months, there have been rumours suggesting that the business may be releasing a new foldable clamshell device soon. The business has now confirmed in an official statement that the Huawei Pocket 2 will be unveiled later this week.

Huawei’s next foldable smartphone keeps the same design as its predecessor

The Huawei Pocket S, which was introduced in November 2022, was replaced by the new gadget. It’s the most well-liked clamshell foldable smartphone in China, according to market data. That is understandable considering that Samsung’s foldables haven’t really taken off in the nation, where its market share is less than 1%.

The 22nd of February marks the unveiling of the Huawei Pocket 2. Although not many specifics about the device are currently known, leaks have indicated that its design would resemble that of its predecessor. Huawei adopts a new design strategy for its clamshell foldable, choosing to place two circular perforations on the front panel: one for the cameras and one for the circular cover display.

Although the new phone’s specifications are unknown, since Huawei is positioning its portfolio in the flagship category, it is anticipated to include the company’s top-tier Kirin 9000S 5G chipset that was also consumed in other flagship products. It’s unclear if Huawei will provide further details about the smartphone before its formal launch, or we’ll simply have to wait and see what it unveils on Thursday, as the actual event is only three days away.
