Recently, the company announced that it will introduce music videos to the platform. It will be initially introduced as part of a beta program. According to details, the feature will be limited to only Premium members. It will be available on iOS, Android, desktop, or on TVs. Currently, the company has debuted the beta program in only 11 countries. So, it appears to be a limited launch.
Reportedly, the company is debuting the new feature in the following markets: the UK, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Brazil, Poland, the Philippines, Indonesia, Kenya, and Colombia. According to the company, the current catalog of music videos is quite small. On the other hand, it features videos by well-known international performers including Ice Spice, Doja Cat, and Ed Sheeran. Additionally, it features music videos from regional performers such as Aluna and Asake.
If you are a resident of any of the above-mentioned regions, you can access this feature by clicking on the “Switch to Video” button. This button can be turned on music tracks that support videos. Click on the “Switch to Audio” button to go back to the background music.
If you don’t reside in one of the countries listed above, you shouldn’t feel left out because Spotify says it intends to bring the program to other regions in the future. Over time, the business intends to add more music videos to its collection.
