Missing the blue badge like Twitter in Instagram? Not now, Instagram has introduced three new tools on Tuesday which bring in transparency. Users will now be able to see more information about the account on Instagram using the new feature called “About the Account”. Instagram is also enabling Two-Factor Authentication via third-party apps.
How to get the blue verified badge on Instagram
You will find the new verification request form under the settings tab, now users can apply for a verified blue badge similar to the one that can be found on Twitter. However, the company said requests for verification do not guarantee that the account will be verified successfully. It sounds like famous people, public figures, celebrities, and other socially active members would be verified quickly.
The new Instagram tools would help users to evaluate the authenticity of accounts on the platform, you would be able to know if the account you are interacting with is authentic and belongs to the person you are interacting, Instagram said in a blog post.
Instagram’s move comes after its parent company Facebook streamlines its efforts to remove fake accounts from the platform, last week, the social media giant said it removed over 652 fake pages, groups, and accounts from the platform that were connected to coordinated campaign originating from Iran.
The Chief Technology Officer of Instagram Mike Krieger said, “keeping people with bad intentions off our platform is of utmost importance for me.” We are trying to make sure that the people you follow and interact with are the real ones and stopping bad actors before they can cause any harm.
