Instagram has been observed working on school-based stories which will only contain content from a particular school’s student body TechCrunch has reported.
Jane Manchun Wong posted it on twitter that she has spotted the code for school stories; the code indicates that only people within the community would be able to view and contribute their school stories.
The school stories would also have tighter control like the stories would be moderated and approved manually in order to make sure the community is safe and only the acceptable content is being published. Instagram however, declined to comment on the development.
Soundcloud songs can now be shared on Instagram
The students or school-specific features are not new neither Instagram is trying it for the first time, the company has already experimented school-based features earlier this summer, the groups feature for students allowing students to send invites, view group members, share public stories and direct message them using community lists.
Snapchat has already introduced stories that were school-based back in 2015, however, that feature was short-lived dubbed “Our Campus Story”.
Many critics blatantly say Instagram is becoming more and more unpopular since the acquisition of Facebook. Whether this feature would gain much attention or not is still to watch.
It is not really confirmed yet whether Instagram would launch this feature in the future or not, the code in the app doesn’t necessarily mean Instagram would roll this out or it will be tested more widely.
