Instagram will allow users to hide their ‘likes’ count

Instagram is now testing a new feature where users can hide the ‘like’ count from their posts. Not only this, but they will also be able to choose if they wish to see the count on other users’ posts or not.

This feature is similar to what YouTube was testing. In a recent report, YouTube said that it’s testing to hide the ‘dislike’ count from its videos, making more sense. But, hiding the ‘like’ count doesn’t make much sense. But regardless of what we say, the company has begun the test.

According to TechCrunch, Facebook will also implement a similar feature (and why shouldn’t they! They’re one big family.)

Instagram also added that this feature is somehow the aftereffect of complaints from users who don’t appreciate showing the ‘likes’ count on their posts.

It is said that not all users agreed on hiding likes from the post. In fact, most users would like to show off since the higher they get the likes, the higher the chance for them to be popular, which could result in brands reaching out and paying to market their products.
