Intel Event Cancelled? Here Are The Details
Intel is canceling its innovation event for this year completely. Some “difficult decisions” have to be made in order to get the company back on track for long-term success. New products such as the Arrow Lake CPUs could be further delayed.
Rejection of innovation
Intel usually invites people to its innovation event once a year. The chip giant presents its new technologies there. Of course, this also regularly includes the upcoming processor generations, such as the eagerly awaited Arrow Lake CPUs. But this year, nothing will happen. Because as Intel now announces on the event website (via TechRadar), the event, which was originally planned for September 24th and 25th, has been cancelled completely. The next innovation will not take place until next year.

External event as an alternative
However, the cancellation of this year’s innovation does not mean that consumers will have to wait until next year for new Intel products. Based on previous reports and statements from Intel itself, it can be assumed that the semiconductor manufacturer will use other smaller events to show its new products. Just over a week ago, for example, it was announced that the new Lunar Lake processors would be presented to the public at a presentation shortly before this year’s IFA in Berlin on September 3rd. Overall, however, there could still be some delays in the market launch of new products.
Intel in crisis mode
Because, above all, Intel’s announcement makes it increasingly clear that the company is officially in a kind of crisis mode. First, it fought for months against unstable CPUs of the 13th and 14th generation. A few days ago, the first BIOS updates were finally released that should fix the problem. Shortly before, it had also announced that at least 15,000 employees would be laid off. The measure is part of a plan that also includes the research and development and marketing divisions and with which it is intended to save a total of around 10 billion dollars. The release of the Zen 5 chips from competitor AMD is also increasing the pressure on Intel. The new Ryzen 9 9950X set a new Cinebench world record just two weeks ago.
