iOS 15.1.1 Update Fixes Call Drops In iPhone 12 And 13

Apple has released a new iPhone update. The new iOS version 15.1.1 fixes a number of problems, including a bug that could lead to calls being dropped on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. It is a device-specific maintenance update.

The new iOS 15.1.1 version with build number 19B81 brings a few bug fixes and optimizations, according to the release notes. There aren’t many changes. No information is currently available on security-relevant changes. iOS 15.1.1 reduces the chances of dropped calls on iPhone 12 and 13 models, so users who experienced dropped calls should see improvements after installing the update. It only seems to be available for devices of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 family, other iPhone users will not get the update, AppleInsider reported. In addition to the update for the iPhone, Apple has also launched iPadOS 15.1.1. There are no release notes for the new iPadOS version yet.

The update is now available via the familiar channels: Users can obtain the update using the auto-update function or initiate the update themselves in the settings. If you want to receive the update as quickly as possible, you can search for the software update in the settings and install it directly. To do this, go to Settings / General / Software update. The iOS update is displayed there; you can start and install the download directly. So you usually get the update faster than waiting for an update notification or choosing the automatic function.

How To Update

The distribution takes place as an over-the-air update (OTA), depending on the user settings, either at the preselected time or directly if available. You can also use iTunes with a PC for the update and connect your iOS device there. The update is recommended for all iOS 15 users. Apple is also working with further beta versions on the functions that have not yet been released with iOS 15 but have been announced.
