iOS 15.5: Apple offers update for iPhones

After a beta phase of several weeks, the latest update to iOS 15.5 is now available for download for all owners of compatible iPhones. Apple is finalizing minor bug fixes and will be paying attention to the new iOS 16 from June. While the previous iOS 15.4 update brought a handful of new features, the changelog for the new iOS 15.5 is much smaller.

Apple Podcasts introduces a new setting for limiting episodes stored on the device and also fixes an issue related to smart home automation.   • A new setting is available in Apple Podcasts that limits the number of episodes stored on iPhone and deletes older ones automatically.
  • Fixed an issue where home automation could fail when people enter or leave the house.

In addition to iPhones and iPads, Macs, the Apple Watch, Apple TV, and the WiFi speaker HomePod also come with new firmware. Here too, the new podcasting options are used, as well as camera tuning for the recently introduced Apple Studio Display.

There are also general performance and stability improvements. Owners of these Apple devices should therefore also take advantage of fine-tuning and wait for the new features of macOS 13, WatchOS 9, and tvOS 16. in the future.
