With the sixth beta version of iOS 18 in the developer program, more new features are being tested. There is also a second beta update for Apple Intelligence, which will start with iOS 18.1.
The latter is not yet available in Germany or the EU – and it is still unclear when the feature will be available here. What you can try out, however, is the sixth iOS 18 beta that Apple has released to developers. As usual, there is only the Bug fixes as release notes so it is not yet known what general changes and new features are included in this release.
The developer beta 6 of iOS and iPadOS 18 has the build number 22A5338b. Apple is already in the final stretch in terms of the time of external betas. It can be assumed that this beta will probably focus on performance improvements and various bug fixes.
Registered developers can participate in the betas by opening the Settings app on their device, going to the Software Update section, tapping the “Beta Updates” option and activating the beta setting there. To download and install the beta, the Apple ID linked to the respective user account is always required.
iOS 18 has recently been available not only as part of the developer program, but also in the “Public Beta”. This means that end users can now also use the beta, although the release is always delayed somewhat. iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will be released to all users in the fall – probably mid-September.
In addition to the iOS beta, Apple has also released new preview versions for iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, MacOS Sequoia, watchOS 11 and visionOS 2. So there is a lot to try out. Do you know of a new feature in the iOS 18 beta that we have missed? Which new feature are you particularly excited about, what are you waiting for? Let us know in the comments!
