iPad 2022: This Entry-level tab Comes with Apple A14, 5G & Wi-Fi 6

New forecasts indicate that Apple could introduce the last entry-level tablet of its kind with the iPad 10 this year. The 10-inch model is set to launch before a major redesign in 2023, with an A14 Bionic chip, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G module. The often well-informed leaker and self-described Apple Data Analyst Twitter user @dylandkt assumes that the 10th generation of the classic iPad will receive a makeover by the end of the year.

The older Apple A14 bionic chip is to be used along with the more contemporary Wi-Fi 6 (WLAN-ax), optional 5G modem (cellular) and Bluetooth 5.0. The well-known design, including a 10.2-inch touchscreen and the Lightning connector, should be carried over from the previous model.

Is Apple still holding on to the home button this year?

Since even the 6th generation iPad Mini relied on even screen bezels and a Touch ID sensor within the power button, the iPad 2022 would be one of the last remnants in the Apple portfolio alongside the iPhone SE, still sporting the well-known home button look . However, the rumor mill assumes that by next year at the latest, the dust will be dusted off and the design of the iPad, which is suitable for beginners, will be updated.

Apple is currently still selling the 9th generation of the iPad, which was only introduced in September 2021 with an A13 Bionic chip and doubled storage capacity. In contrast to its slightly larger brother, the iPad Air, the cheapest iPad (from 379 euros) has to do without features such as USB-C and a fully laminated display. The entry-level class is also not compatible with modern tablet accessories, such as the Magic Keyboard or the 2nd generation Apple Pencil. Even before the iPad 2022 is updated, the 5th generation of the iPad Air is scheduled to appear in the spring. Here, too, insiders have so far assumed an upgrade of the processor (A15 Bionic) and a 5G connection.
