Apple’s revamped iPad Air could be out soon. According to a new report, it resembles the sixth-generation iPad mini and features 5G connectivity and an ultrawide FaceTime HD camera. About the new rumors about the iPad Air of the fifth generation is now reported by this AppleInsider and points out Sources from Japan. Apple is expected to hold an event to unveil the new iPad as usual in the spring, possibly in March. However, it is also expected that the main focus of the event will be the new iPhone SE and the refresh of the iPad Air will only be a “side note”. The fifth-generation iPad Air is said to come with a number of similar technical specifications based on the iPad mini, including an A15 Bionic chip and support for 5G mobile networks.
It also says the FaceTime HD camera will be upgraded to a 12-megapixel ultra-wide version and will feature the same Center Stage-compatible sensor as other iPad models. On the back, the camera will get a quad LED True Tone flash, according to the rumor mill.
As for the exterior, there was talk of Apple taking the design from the 3rd generation 11-inch iPad Pro, so showing a difference from the current look of the iPad Air. So far, however, only a few rumors about the iPad Air 2022 have surfaced. The well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said last fall that Apple wants to avoid using OLED technology for the display in order to avoid a conflict with a possible 11-inch iPad Pro update with mini-LED avoid backlighting.
