Some time ago it appeared like Qualcomm won’t debut the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 chipset. However, some fresh rumors indicate that the chipset will be introduced. As of now, we have come across some more information about the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. As per the information provided by Revegnus, the upcoming chipset could be likely used by OnePlus and iQOO. Reportedly, OnePlus could utilize the unannounced chipset in OnePlus V Fold or OnePlus 11T.

The tipster has shared the above-mentioned information in a tweet. The tipster has only mentioned the name of companies and not the exact model. However, if we look at OnePlus then the company has scheduled various high-end devices coming later this year, so likely the company could use them in OnePlus 11T or OnePlus V Fold.

The company assured that the OnePlus V Fold will be introduced by Q3 2023. Well, there is no certainty about the name of this smartphone. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11T is expected to arrive by Q4 this year. However, there is no information yet about this smartphone. Besides these smartphones, the company could also debut a clamshell foldable device this year.

There are no details about when the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 will arrive in the market. OnePlus 11T is expected to debut in Q4 so we can anticipate that the smartphone comes with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. Last year, the company used the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor for OnePlus 10T and it proved to be the right decision by the company.

Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 will possibly include minor improvements over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

In contrast to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 included some significant improvements. Well, we can’t expect this same thing with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2. Since the company has already introduced the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with excellent features.

Qualcomm acquired TSMC services for the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, whereas South Korean tech giant Samsung manufactured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. TSMC holds a dominant position in the SoC production tech. It is reflected in the differences between the two chips. There is a high probability that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 if introduced, will be manufactured by TSMC.
