Is Honor Working on a Compact Flagship Phone? Honor Magic 7 Mini

Could the rumored Honor Magic 7 Mini be just around the corner? Reports suggest that Honor might be developing a smaller flagship phone to join the recent trend of compact, high-performance devices.

Smaller Flagship Phones Are Gaining Popularity

For some reason, compact flagship phones seem to be making a big comeback. From slimmer designs to smaller screens, these devices are proving that less can indeed be more. Honor is reportedly jumping on this trend, and its upcoming device might just fit perfectly into the “mini” category.

What Do We Know About Honor’s New Flagship?

According to established tipster Digital Chat Station, a new Honor phone is in development. Initial details shared on Weibo (via GSMArena) reveal some key specs for this mystery device.

The phone is expected to feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K display paired with flagship-level specifications. While a 6.3-inch screen doesn’t scream “mini” by itself – especially compared to the 6.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S25 – it’s rumored to be “ultra-thin.” This suggests it could compete with upcoming slim devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge or the iPhone 17 Air.

The tipster also mentioned that this phone is currently being “polished,” indicating it might already be close to completion.

Why Call It the Honor Magic 7 Mini?

Given its slim design and flagship status, this new phone will likely fall under Honor’s premium Magic branding. With the recent release of the Honor Magic 7 Pro, it’s safe to assume that this new phone will also carry the Magic 7 name, possibly with a “Mini” or other similar designation to emphasize its compact size.

Alternatively, Honor might take inspiration from Apple or Samsung and name it something like the Honor Magic 7 Air or Honor Magic 7 Edge. Whatever the name, its small footprint and ultra-thin build are sure to stand out.

Will It Launch Outside of China?

While we don’t yet have global availability details, the big question remains: will this compact flagship make its way outside of China? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.
