We told our readers earlier as well that Amazon has pulled out from MWC. The statement of an Amazon spokesperson stated, “Due to the outbreak and continued concerns about novel coronavirus, Amazon will withdraw from exhibiting and participating in Mobile World Congress 2020, scheduled for Feb. 24-27 in Barcelona, Spain.”

Similarly, AT & T issued a statement regarding its withdrawal stating, “After careful discussions and planning, we have decided that we will not participate in GSMA Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2020. We value our participation in important industry groups like GSMA and deeply respect the steps they have already taken to protect attendees. Unfortunately, the most responsible decision is to withdraw our participation from the event t safeguard our employees and customers.”

Ericsson’s withdrawal from MWC was confirmed by a statement from President, and CEO, Ericsson Börje Ekholm, “The health and safety of our employees, customers, and other stakeholders are our highest priority. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. We were looking forward to showcasing our latest innovations at MWC in Barcelona. It is very unfortunate, but we strongly believe the most responsible business decision is to withdraw our participation from this year’s event.”

Quite recently Facebook has also decided to withdraw from MWC due to health risks from Coronavirus. Intel too decided to pull out issuing the following statement, “The safety and wellbeing of all our employees and partners is our top priority, and we have withdrawn from this year’s Mobile World Congress out of an abundance of caution. We are grateful to the GSMA for their understanding and look forward to attending and supporting future Mobile World Congress events.”

Intel also joined the league confirming that the company will not be attending the MWC 2020 which is scheduled to take place on Feb 24.

LG confirmed its skipping MWC conference stating instead of it the company will hold separate launch events for its upcoming products. Mediatek will also showcase its products in another event, as it also decided to pull off out of the show.

It was expected that NVIDIA would make announcements about its work on 5G and AI but we would have to wait for it now as it won’t be attending MWC show.

Royole also in a tweet announced, “Due to the health and safety concerns following the coronavirus outbreak, Royole Corporation has regretfully decided to withdraw from MWC 2020. We will be announcing FlexPai 2, a brand new foldable phone featuring flagship performance and Royole’s core tech, before MWC 2020.”

Shocking: Coronavirus could Infect 60% of the World Population if not Controlled

Sony, TCL, Vivo, ZTE have announced their withdrawal from the MWC tech show for the same reason.

Now with so many companies withdrawing from MWC 2020, there is news circulating that GSMA might decide to totally cancel the show. However, it has not been decided or confirmed yet.
